Sunday 3rd May 2009, Cold Ash, Away – Win

As we turned up at Cold Ash, the weather was looking good for the first friendly match of the season.  It was a little cloudy, but reasonably warm with the sun breaking through every now and then.  The pitch was a little slow, but there was a new artificial wicket that was providing a good consistent bounce and a little turn for the spinners.   I set the president for the season and lost the toss and Wantage were put in to bat.  Chief and Longdog marched out and it wasn’t long before…continue reading →

Outdoor Nets

Out of almost no where the season is upon us, therefore after the success of the indoor nets last month it is time to get outside, in the sunshine (yeah right) and start some outdoor nets. First session will be on Tuesday 28th, from 6:30, depending on numbers who make it along activities will be decided at the time. This session is for everyone, Saturday/Sunday/Wednesday players! Awards Evening

We finally got around to having the end of season bash, yes I know January is quite late but its all about building the anticipation don’t you know… This year we decided to congregate at the club house for the annual curry night and get a take away, fabulous idea. WAAAYYY first day of the season! Who's excited? I certainly am. However Mr Met Office isn't. It is going to rain this afternoon by all accounts, which is of course bad. Means it could be an on off day. We have Minster Lovell at home today, always a tight tie between us and them. We have a history of bottling it though which is bad. Pre Season Net Session

Don't leave it to the first game to practice that reverse sweep or doosra! I've booked a lane for nets at 4pm in the Wantage Leisure Centre for fourweeks from Sunday 30th March to the 20th April.
